This article, through both historical and ritual approaches, explores the causes, contexts, and consequences of women’s absence in traditional Iranian performances. The historical section demonstrates that the status of women in prehistoric societies, as well as during matriarchal and patriarchal eras, was shaped by social, economic, and power structures, and that religious or cultural shifts alone did not improve their position. The ritual section, focusing on Mithraic practices and the case study of the Nāqāldī performance, highlights that restrictions on women’s participation in rituals and performances are not only historical but also symbolic and cultural, persisting even in local communal traditions. The findings indicate that the exclusion of women from performative spaces reflects entrenched gender systems and enduring ritual beliefs, and that any genuine transformation in this field requires a profound reconsideration of cultural and social structures. نمایش‌های سنتی ایران با غنای اسطوره‌ای، آیینی و هنری خود، همواره با حذف چشمگیر زنان از عرصه اجرا همراه بوده‌اند. این مقاله با رویکردی تاریخی و آیینی به بررسی علل، بسترها و پیامدهای غیاب زنان در نمایش‌های سنتی ایران می‌پردازد. بخش تاریخی مطالعه نشان می‌دهد که جایگاه زن در جوامع پیش از تاریخ، دوران زن‌سالاری و مردسالاری، تحت تأثیر ساختارهای اجتماعی، اقتصادی و قدرت بوده است و تغییر نگرش‌های دینی یا فرهنگی به تنهایی نتوانسته جایگاه او را بهبود بخشد. بخش آیینی پژوهش، با تمرکز بر آیین میترا و مطالعه موردی نمایش «ناقـالدی»، تأکید می‌کند که محدودیت حضور زنان در مناسک و نمایش‌ها، نه تنها تاریخی، بلکه نمادین و فرهنگی است و حتی در آیین‌های محلی مشارکتی نیز ادامه یافته است. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد که حذف زنان از صحنه‌های نمایشی، بازتابی از نظام‌های جنسیتی تثبیت‌شده و باورهای آیینی دیرپا است و هرگونه تحول واقعی در این حوزه، نیازمند بازنگری عمیق در ساختارهای فرهنگی و اجتماعی است. https://jam.apadana.ac.ir/downloadfilepdf/148732
