Unamuno, the Spanish thinker, is among those philosophers who, with an existentialist perspective grounded in the duality of human existence, seeks to defend consciousness as the criterion of individuality and, in light of this view, explains the necessity of human immortality. He consistently reflects upon the individual character and believes that this concern arises from humanity’s thirst for eternal life. The study further explores the concept of the tree, noting that the Tree of Life may bear distinct meanings across various contexts and dimensions of human experience. The Tree of Life is a concept used in science, religion, philosophy, mythology, and other fields. Across these domains, it is often represented as a branching tree, symbolizing the interconnectedness of all life on Earth. This research seeks to answer the question: How is the Tree of Life, as a symbol of humanity’s desire for immortality from Unamuno’s perspective, represented in The Fountain? The study investigates the symbolic and mythological role of the Tree of Life and the fountain within art and culture. Using a descriptive-analytical method and relying on library-based research, internet sources, theses, scholarly websites, and credible academic articles, the research analyzes this symbol in ancient texts and artistic works. Ultimately, the findings indicate that—consistent with Unamuno’s arguments—the human desire for immortality has deep psychological and existential roots, and Aronofsky successfully mirrors this longing in his film. The Tree of Life, as a central element in mythological belief systems, is directly linked to the concepts of birth, vitality, and the dynamic essence of the fountain. These two elements are interpreted not only in art but also in various religions and rituals as symbols of eternal life and the connection between different realms of existence. مقاله حاضر به منظور بررسی نقش درخت زندگی به عنوان نمادی از میل به جاودانگی بشر در اثر سینمایی چشمه ساخته دارن آرنوفسکی از منظر فیلسوف مطرح میگل د اونامونو است. اونامونو فیلسوف اسپانیایـی از زمره فـیلسوفانی است که با نگاهی اگزیستانسیالیستی با تکیه بر دوگانه انگاشتن وجود انسان کوشیده است تا از آگاهی به عنوان ملاک تشخص دفاع کرده و در پرتو آن ضرورت جاودانگی انسان را تبیین کند. وی همواره شخصیت فردی را مورد تامل قرار می دهد و معتقد است این مساله از عطش جاودانگی انسان حاصل می شود. در ادامه با مفهوم درخت مواجه می شویم، درخت زندگی می تواند در بسترهای مختلف و در ابعاد مختلف زندگی، معنای خاص خودش را داشته باشد. درخت زندگی مفهومی است که در علم، مذهب، فلسفه، اسطوره و دیگر زمینه ها استفاده شده است. در این زمینه ها درخت زندگی به شکل درختی پرشاخه نشان داده می شود که نشان‌دهنده این ایده است که تمام حیات بر روی زمین به هم مربوط است. پژوهش حاضر به دنبال رسیدن به جواب این پرسش است که درخت زندگی به عنوان نمادی از میل به جاودانگی بشر از دیدگاه اونامونو چگونه در فیلم چشمه به نمایش کشیده شده است؟ این پژوهش به بررسی نقش نمادین و اسطوره‌ای درخت زندگی بر چشمه در هنر و فرهنگ می‌پردازد. با استفاده از روش توصیفی- تحلیلی و شیوه گردآوری اطلاعات به صورت کتابخانه(اسنادی) و استفاده از منابع اینترنتی، پایان نامه، سایت و مقالات معتبر و بررسی منابع مکتوب، مفاهیم مرتبط با این نماد در متون کهن و آثار هنری تحلیل شده است. با بررسی های صورت گرفته در این پژوهش نهایتا، این نتیجه حاصل گردید؛ همانگونه که اونامونو مطرح می‌کند، میل انسان به جاودانگی نشانه‌های روانی و ریشه‌ای داشته، و آرنوفسکی نیز به درستی این تمنا را در فیلمش انعکاس داده است. درخت زندگی به‌عنوان عنصر محوری در باورهای اسطوره‌ای، ارتباط مستقیمی با مفهوم زایش، حیات و پویایی چشمه دارد و این دو عنصر نه‌تنها در هنر، بلکه در ادیان و آیین‌های مختلف نیز به‌عنوان نماد حیات جاودان و پیوند میان جهان‌های مختلف تفسیر شده‌اند. /downloadfilepdf/27476
