In this context, photomontage can function beyond a mere technical method and serve as a means of shaping conceptual expression and generating meaning within the poster. Michal Batory, a Polish graphic designer, is among the artists who have developed a distinctive visual language in theatre poster design through the use of photography, photomontage, incongruous combinations of visual elements, and metaphorical and surreal approaches. The present study aims to analyze the role of photomontage in shaping conceptual expression in Michal Batory’s theatre posters. The research is fundamental in terms of its purpose and employs a descriptive-analytical method with a qualitative approach. The research population consists of Michal Batory’s theatre posters, from which selected examples were purposefully chosen and analyzed based on criteria including the combination and transformation of visual elements, the creation of metaphorical relationships, composition, the interaction between image and typography, and the process of meaning-making. The findings indicate that photomontage in Batory’s works is not merely decorative or technical; rather, through the juxtaposition of incongruous elements, transformation of the context and function of objects, creation of metaphorical relationships, and formation of unexpected visual situations, it becomes a means of conveying concepts and generating multiple layers of meaning. Furthermore, the interaction between imagery, typography, and negative space enhances conceptual interpretation and encourages the viewer’s intellectual engagement. The results demonstrate that Batory uses photomontage strategically to establish a conceptual relationship between the subject matter of a theatrical production and the visual structure of the poster, guiding the audience toward the discovery and interpretation of meaning through visual coding, metaphor, and associative relationships. پوستر تئاتر به عنوان یکی از مهم ترین ابزارهای ارتباط بصری، علاوه بر معرفی یک اثر نمایشی، نقش مؤثری در انتقال مفاهیم، ایجاد ارتباط با مخاطب و شکل دهی به هویت بصری آن اثر دارد. در این میان، فتومونتاژ می تواند فراتر از یک تکنیک اجرایی، به عنوان ابزاری برای شکل دهی به بیان مفهومی و تولید معنا در پوستر مورد استفاده قرار گیرد. میشال باتوری، طراح گرافیک لهستانی، از جمله هنرمندانی است که با بهره گیری از عکاسی، فتومونتاژ، ترکیب عناصر نامتجانس و رویکردهای استعاری و سوررئالیستی، زبان بصری متمایزی در طراحی پوسترهای تئاتر ایجاد کرده است. پژوهش حاضر با هدف تحلیل نقش فتومونتاژ در شکل گیری بیان مفهومی در پوسترهای تئاتر میشال باتوری انجام شده است. این پژوهش از نظر هدف، بنیادی و از نظر روش، توصیفی–تحلیلی با رویکرد کیفی است. جامعه پژوهش شامل پوسترهای تئاتری میشال باتوری است که نمونه هایی از آن به صورت هدفمند انتخاب و بر اساس مؤلفه هایی همچون نحوه ترکیب و جابه جایی عناصر تصویری، ایجاد روابط استعاری، ترکیب بندی، تعامل تصویر و نوشتار و شیوه تولید معنا مورد تحلیل قرار گرفته اند. یافته های پژوهش نشان می دهد که فتومونتاژ در آثار باتوری صرفاً نقش تزئینی یا اجرایی ندارد، بلکه از طریق پیوند عناصر نامتجانس، تغییر زمینه و کارکرد اشیاء، ایجاد روابط استعاری و شکل دهی به موقعیت های بصری غیرمنتظره، به ابزاری برای انتقال مفاهیم و ایجاد لایه های معنایی تبدیل می شود. همچنین، تعامل میان تصویر، تایپوگرافی و فضای خالی موجب تقویت خوانش مفهومی و افزایش مشارکت ذهنی مخاطب می شود. نتایج نشان می دهد که باتوری با بهره گیری هدفمند از فتومونتاژ، میان مضمون نمایش و ساختار بصری پوستر ارتباطی مفهومی برقرار کرده و از طریق رمزگذاری و ایجاد تداعی های بصری، مخاطب را به فرایند کشف و تفسیر معنا هدایت می کند. https://jam.apadana.ac.ir/downloadfilepdf/425278
